Processes
Splitting is the mechanised process of reducing large blocks of material into thinner sheets. EVA Industries manufacture Polyethylene and EVA foam sheeting to many thicknesses and densities, as required by our customers.
EVA makes use of several specialised Splitting Machines. These machines are set either manually or electronically by skilled operators. The foam blocks are loaded into the splitting machine by the machine operator. The block is then sliced by the machine to the required thickness. The machine dictates the speed at which the block is sliced, this depends on the density of each block and the required thickness of the final product. The sliced blocks become sheets during this process. The machine operator is supported by a table hand who receives the sliced sheet, upon exit from the splitting machine, and then packs the sheets on to a pallet for further quality inspection, processing, or dispatch.
Examples of uses for split sheets:

Split sheets can be used for insulation, gasketing, footwear components, camping and yoga mats to name but a few.
Injection Moulding is the process in which a thermoplastic polymer is heated above its melting point, and then mechanically injected or pressed into a mould.
EVA Industries manufactures injection moulded PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) or TR (Thermoplastic Rubber) from various moulds according to customer specifications. EVA is a large user of in-house injection moulded products, but also services a broader customer base with its injection moulding capabilities.
EVA has at its disposal 20 injection moulding machines, which include single colour vertical, horizontal and several 2-colour rotary injection moulding machines. This capacity allows EVA to produce more than 20,000 products per day.
Examples of injection moulded PVC products include:

CNC routing is a highly specialised process of milling a material into various forms or shapes. The CNC router uses CNC (Computer Numeric Control) programming to instruct the machining head to follow a set program. The CNC router has multiple machining heads with each head having a more unique bit application. The CNC router can change bits whilst running a single program. This ability results in efficient production with consistent results.
EVA Industries uses the CNC cutter to cut through EVA manufactured foam materials to create bespoke CNC foam products, as per customer specifications. These products range from gaskets to dunnage (inserts). The applications are varied and across automotive, agricultural, building, industrial, recreational to footwear applications. Customers provide the CAD (Computer Aided Design) designs and specifications.
Our factory provides external CNC cutting services to a broader base of customers.
The CNC cutter affords EVA Industries the opportunity to repurpose blocks and sheet material through value-add processing that meets customer specifications. As part of our company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint the CNC cutter can therefore add value to the repurposing initiative. EVA Industries makes use of its own manufactured materials, wherever possible.
Examples of CNC Routed EVA products:
- Value Add Branding on EVA Blocks and Sheeting for Customers
- Value add roughening on Footwear related Materials
- Any design or application, where applicable, according to client specifications

Die cutting is the process of stamping out shapes of material from blocks and or sheets. The process itself involves specialised hydraulically operated machinery combined with skilled operators and unique dies (or knives) which are pressed down in a quick motion under pressure. This results in a stamped cut into the material, the shape of the knife becomes the product, and the product is removed manually from the material resulting in both a fit for purpose product and a skeleton.
EVA Industries die cut foam sheets into specific shapes using specialized dies. For example, we use a different size die for each size of Beach Thong that we make. We can manufacture EVA/EPDM foam products according to client specification using custom dies. EVA makes use of its own materials wherever possible.
Examples of die cut EVA products:
- Soles for Flip Flops
- Any design, where applicable, according to client specifications

Gasketing is the process of cutting / stamping or manufacturing gaskets from materials ranging such as foam, rubber, silicone, graphite, steel and cork, to name but a few.
EVA Industries can offer clients services that include splitting, oscillating knife and / or die cutting of gaskets. The gaskets are manufactured according to client specification using customised dies or software. EVA can provide the full service from design concept through to manufacturing the final product and makes use of its own equipment, design software and materials wherever possible.
